Guess The Pictures Home
Quick summary: Guess The Pictures is an offline picture-word puzzle game. Every picture and word ships inside the app, so the game needs no internet connection to play. Your settings and progress are stored on your device. There are no advertisements and no in-app purchases in this version. You may optionally sign in to Google Play Games to sync achievements, a leaderboard score, and cloud-saved progress. We run no servers of our own and never collect your name, email, or location.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Guess The Pictures (the "App") handles information. The App shows you a picture and you spell the word it stands for, in the language you choose to learn. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information
We do NOT collect personally identifiable information. The App has no account system of its own and never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or location. If you choose to sign in to Google Play Games (optional), Google associates your gameplay with your Google account; we do not receive your identity.
2.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App saves the following on your device only, using the device's standard local storage. We cannot read it:
- Settings: theme (light / dark / system), interface language, and the language whose words you are learning
- Which puzzles you have solved, kept separately per learning language
- Your hint balance and the record of hints earned and spent
- The date of your most recent daily hint grant
- Whether the first-run language picker has been completed
- A random identifier generated on your device the first time you play, used only to keep hint transactions unique and to label a cloud save as coming from this install. It is not an advertising identifier, it is not derived from your hardware, and it is never sent to us.
Uninstalling the App, or clearing its storage in your Android or iOS settings, deletes all of the above.
2.3 Google Play Games Services and Game Center (optional)
If you sign in to Google Play Games on Android, or Game Center on iOS, that platform stores the following under your own account so it can follow you between devices:
- Achievements you unlock
- Your score on the "Words Solved" leaderboard
- Cloud-saved progress, so you can restore your solved words and hints on another device
This data is held by Google or Apple under your account, not by us. Note that a leaderboard is by nature public: the gamer name and avatar you have set with that platform are visible to other players who view the leaderboard. You can skip sign-in entirely — the App works exactly the same, fully offline.
2.4 What the App Does NOT Do
- No advertisements. This version of the App displays no ads and contains no advertising identifiers.
- No in-app purchases. Hints are earned by playing; nothing is for sale.
- No analytics or crash-reporting service. We collect no usage statistics.
- No access to photos, contacts, camera, microphone, or files.
- No network access is needed to play. All pictures and words are bundled inside the App.
3. How Information Is Used
- To run the game and remember your settings and progress, stored on your device
- To sync achievements, the leaderboard score, and cloud saves — only when you have signed in to Google Play Games or Game Center
4. Third-Party Services
4.1 Google Play Games Services (Android)
Achievements, leaderboards, and cloud saves are provided by Google Play Games Services and stored by Google under your account when you sign in.
4.2 Game Center (iOS)
The same features on iOS are provided by Apple's Game Center and stored by Apple under your Apple Account when you sign in.
4.3 The App Stores Themselves
Google Play and the Apple App Store handle the download, update, and (if applicable) refund of the App. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, linked above.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data, because we do not receive any. The only data that leaves your device is the achievement, leaderboard, and cloud-save data handled by Google Play Games Services or Game Center, and only after you choose to sign in.
6. Your Choices
- Play offline: decline the Play Games / Game Center sign-in prompt. Nothing in the game is locked behind it.
- Manage or delete cloud data: use the Google Play Games app (Android) or Settings → Game Center (iOS) to delete your saved games, achievements, and leaderboard scores for this game.
- Delete local data: clear the App's storage, or uninstall it, to remove all settings, solved words, and hints stored on your device.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is family-friendly. It contains no chat, no user-generated content, no social features, and no advertising, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us.
8. Data Security
- Settings and progress are kept in the device's standard local storage.
- We operate no servers, so there is no account of yours for us to lose.
- Cloud saves, when you enable them, are protected by your Google or Apple account.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes — for example, if a future version introduces advertising or purchases, this page will be updated before that version ships. Changes are posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
