Vocab Games Home
Quick summary: Vocab Games is a word-puzzle app with several mini-games. Your settings and game progress are stored on your device. The app shows advertisements through Google AdMob, offers optional in-app purchases, and can optionally connect to Google Play Games to sync achievements, leaderboards, and cloud-saved progress if you choose to sign in. We do not run our own servers and do not collect your name, email, or precise location.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Vocab Games (the "App") handles information. The App is a collection of word puzzles — including VocabGrid, VocabLine, VocabBee, VocabStep, VocabHunt, VocabChain, VocabJumble, VocabClue, VocabTwin, and VocabFlip. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information
We do NOT collect personally identifiable information ourselves. The App has no account of its own and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or precise location. If you choose to sign in to Google Play Games (optional), Google associates your gameplay with your Google account; we do not receive your identity.
2.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App saves the following on your device only (using local storage). We cannot access it:
- Settings (theme, accent color, interface language, game language, difficulty mode, word length, sound/haptics, dark mode)
- Game progress (streaks, best scores, levels passed, ladders solved, boards cleared, daily puzzle state)
- Saved words you bookmark from the in-app dictionary
- Your lightbulb (hint) balance and whether you have purchased "remove ads"
- A background image you optionally choose from your device
- Whether the first-time tutorial has been shown
2.3 Information Collected by Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays ads using Google AdMob, including optional rewarded ads you may watch to earn in-game hints. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and Google may automatically collect:
- Advertising identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID)
- Approximate device and app information (device model, OS version, app version)
- IP address and general (coarse) location derived from it
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
If you purchase "remove ads," banner advertisements are turned off on your device.
2.4 In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing)
The App offers optional purchases — a one-time "remove ads" purchase and consumable hint (lightbulb) packs — processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment; we receive only a purchase confirmation/token used to unlock the item. We never receive or store your card or payment details.
2.5 Google Play Games Services
If you sign in to Google Play Games (optional), Google stores the following under your Google account so it can sync across your devices:
- Achievements you unlock
- Leaderboard scores you submit
- Cloud-saved game progress (so you can restore it on another device)
This is handled by Google; you can skip sign-in and play fully offline.
2.6 Photos / Media
If you choose to set a custom background, the App reads the image you pick from your device. That image is used only to display your background and stays on your device — it is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
3. How Information Is Used
- To run the games and remember your settings and progress (stored locally)
- To display advertisements and measure their performance
- To process in-app purchases and unlock what you bought
- To sync achievements, leaderboards, and saved games when you sign in to Google Play Games
- To keep the app stable and improve it
4. Third-Party Services
4.1 Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to show advertisements.
4.2 Google Play Billing
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play. See Google's privacy policy above. Purchases are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
4.3 Google Play Games Services
Achievements, leaderboards, and cloud saves are provided by Google Play Games Services and stored by Google under your account when you sign in. See Google's privacy policy above.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Data leaving your device is limited to: advertising data processed by Google AdMob; purchase confirmations processed by Google Play Billing; and, only if you sign in, the achievements, leaderboard scores, and cloud-saved progress handled by Google Play Games Services. We do not operate our own servers and do not transmit your settings, saved words, or chosen background image anywhere.
6. Your Choices
- Reset advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Opt out of personalized ads: in your device's Google ad settings; you may then see non-personalized ads.
- Remove ads: buy the one-time "remove ads" in-app purchase.
- Play Games: you can choose not to sign in (the App works fully offline), or manage/delete your saved games and scores in the Google Play Games app.
- Delete local data: clear the app's storage or uninstall the App to remove all locally stored settings, progress, saved words, and your chosen background.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is family-friendly and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It contains no chat or social features. Because the App shows ads, we configure ad requests to be appropriate for a general audience. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
8. Data Security
- Settings, progress, and saved words are stored using the device's standard local storage.
- No personal data is transmitted to or stored on our servers (we have none). Cloud saves, when enabled, are stored by Google under your account.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
